Can Young Black Men Get Justice?

Written by Mark O'Mara on . Posted in Opinion

I debated with Marc Lamont Hill on Erin Burnett OutFront about whether young black men can get justice in our system. Marc says that there are “standards and mechanisms inside the law that . . . normalize white supremacist ideas of black.” While I agree there is an undeniable bias in our criminal justice system that we must work to eradicate, my point is that the system does in fact, when the facts support it, render just verdicts when young, unarmed black people are killed. Look at the cases of Renisha McBride, Jonathan Ferrell, and Michael Dunn.
